Art van Triest presents a preview of his new project ‘Preppers Paradise’. For this, he studies the phenomenon of  ‘preppen’ which deals with the absolute basic human needs; will this be food, water, clean air and energy? or is this mainly about beauty, critical thinking and empathy?
Van Triest develops recognizable objects and machines that ‘preppers’ produce, collect and storage. They arise from fear and the strong belief that the end of the world is nearby, therefore they often shows a militaristic character.
The installation consists of a series of open storage racks in which work and drawings are stored in themes. During the opening Van Triest demonstrates the inflammation of his “waterballoonsuicidebombvest”.
