Goran Turnšek (1978) was born in former Yugoslavia, now Slovenia. He studied modern dance at the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam. He danced with Krisztina de Châtel, Piet Rogie, and Nicole Beutler, and he collaborated with Marina Abramović and Aziz Bekkaoui. After his dance career he created dance choreographies and developed an interest in the relationship between performance and photography, which he explored further during his studies at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam. In 2015 he graduated with the project ‘Jakob’, under supervision of Ellen Sanders and Nicole Segers. Goran won dance prizes and was shortlisted for various photography awards such as Unseen Dummy Award and Selection of Dutch photography. His work has been published in the British Journal of Photography, Volkskrant magazine, Fotodigi, Photocaptionista, Professionele Fotografie, and Dans Magazine. At This art Fair, Turnšek presents the following photography projects: ‘What would we do without them’, ‘Jakob’, and ‘Second Stage’.
