Whether Martha Scheeren paints surfaces or borders and lines, and no matter what procedures she applies, the colours and colour combinations must always be able to liven it up, to express their richness and their brilliance – or, as Scheeren herself puts it: to vibrate. By that she means light.

With that vibration her goal is no longer only ‘colour, being her everlasting subject’, but it also includes links and relationships between colour and light.
