Patrick van Vliet (1981) studied Urban Planning at Utrecht University. After university, he began working as a visual artist.

Patrick’s work has evolved from pop surrealistic, psychedelic imagery to a form of Dutch social realism in which his background as an urban planner has become more explicit. In his images, he incorporates social annoyances and public degeneration, inspired by day to day life. These images seem familiar but cause alienation – alienation by disrupting the familiar with uncanny elements, odd perspectives and deviant colours.

Patrick works and lives in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
