Rogier van ‘t Slot (Zuidelijke IJsselmeerpolder, The Netherlands, 1973) graduated from the Amsterdam Fotoacademie (Photography Academy) in May 2015. In his photography, Rogier plays with his own struggles – struggles such as many people have. The lens of his camera allows him to examine his own dilemmas by studying others’.

Van ‘t Slot about his work: “My work arises from interest in social tension between order and disorder. My main subject is the person, the personal space and the choices in between. I work with different cameras; the flow of work provides me with the right camera choice.”

Van ‘t Slot: “The synergy in my work comes from diversity, as is the case with the individuals and subjects that I photograph. I present my work in installations, which gives the viewer a disruptive feeling. But if you look closer, it is anything but disordered. The order lies in the selection, and responds to your emotions.”
