Applications for This Art Fair 2025 are now open! All professional artists are welcome to participate: from recent graduates looking for exposure to experienced and established artists excited to exhibit new work. Deadline: Sunday, 9 February.
You can find the application forms for individual artists here or duo artists here. Would you like to know more first? This blog post answers all your questions. To further motivate you, we asked successful former participant Lisette van Hoogenhuyze about her experiences with This Art Fair.
A lot of help
“This Art Fair is very professional and divides all preparations into pieces for you, so you don’t have to do everything at once. Deadlines are feasible and clear and there is a lot of help”, says artist Lisette van Hoogenhuyze about how she experienced the preparations for her participation.
I learned to be more assertive
Lisette is also excited about the results: “My participation in This Art Fair brought me a lot. Many new people saw my work, and they follow me to this day. They still buy something from me from time to time,” she says. “I not only met many new colleagues who eventually became friends, but I also met many other people who are professionally connected to the art world, which is why I am sometimes invited by a gallery for a (group) exhibition.”
What else did Lisette take away from taking part in This? “I learned to be more talkative and assertive towards people who are interested in my work.”
I am glad there are fairs like This
She is a fan of the art fair: “I am glad that there are fairs like This where artists have the chance to represent themselves. This way we can set up our own booth and directly enter into a conversation with the public. This is not only fun to do, but the conversations are very helpful for your development as an artist. I think that with such a fair you also understand and appreciate the work of the gallery more and therefore also know more about what you can and want to expect from a collaboration with a gallery.”
