In our age of advancing social media and digital control mechanisms, where is the boundary between private and public? In today’s society, power and associated knowledge almost make the limits of our privacy dissolve.

The working title of my ongoing project is “Crossing the border”. A big part of this project involves small paintings of isolation cells and hospital rooms. They are based on pictures found on social media.

Important elements in my work are “inside” and “outside”, power and impotence. Places of interest are psychiatric wards, jails and hospitals. In these places, there is no equality between the one outside, having control to open the door, and the person inside.

At This Art Fair, I will be having a duo presentation with Lisette Frimannslund in which we both react to the theme of “Paradise means enclosed area”.
