My work often begins with a change of perspective. This new viewing point could come from another place or person, or from finding a different timeframe. By applying this new perspective to the subject, I intend to give it an honest voice. To make this tangible, my sculptures and installations are transparant and nihilistic, but that being said, not clear of opportunism.

At This Art Fair I will present a series of sculptures made entirely from used sheets of OSB. The once living trees have been processed to construction boards and after short but intensive usage, they are now being reshaped into their former organic shapes and structures. In the form of oddly shaped trees, these sculptures intend to reflect on their own lifecycle and changing purpose.

Bas Burghard (1996) studied Product Design at the HKU and currently lives and works in Amsterdam.
