Bertrand Peyrot (1981) is an artist as well as a craftsman. Raised in the outskirts of Paris: Rambouillet, he studied at the prestigious Academie des Beaux Arts. Although the focus of his study was painting, Peyrot remained unsatisfied with this medium. One day, when he spotted a rusty old French car, he realized he wanted to work with rust. It took another two years to develop and refine his technique of treating the metal. Today, his works come to life through an organic process of oxidization, embodying the dynamic and transient nature of his subject matter. In this series Bertrand Peyrot explores the process of rusting which meets the concept of time. His rusty metal works are organic entities in perpetual motion.
