Danielle Alhassid’s works involve stop motion animation, installation, print making, drawing and performance. She focuses on the intersection of memory, identity, immigration and the urban experience as her main subjects of investigation.
Alhassid’s work benefits from her wide experience in formal and informal education and tour guiding. She explores the idea of a guided tour in her pieces, in which she creates immersive multi-disciplinary installations.
Danielle Alhassid is an Israeli-French multidisciplinary artist. She is a graduate of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (2020) and is currently studying for her MFA at Hunter College, New York.
Her film “Song of the Stone” won first prize in the students’ film competition, Musraramix festival, Jerusalem (2020). Her performance pieces inspired by the experience of guiding were presented at Het HEM, Manofim’ festival, Jerusalem conference of art (2020), and in Musraramix festival, Jerusalem (2021) among others.
