I have struggled with my body for as long as I remember. Through my art, I explore the ongoing personal struggle with myself and my body through the lens of feminism. I redo most of my artworks tunil I make the so-called ‘perfect one’. I have felt like two different entities; me and my body. I am trying to find ‘me’ through my artworks. As a woman, I learned to hate myself, my femininity and my body as well as whatever I do. I am never good enough, but the older I am getting, I am realising that I am not alone. It is a shared experience. Simone de Beauvoir’s quote ‘One is not born, but rather becomes a woman.’ encouraged me to dig deeper within myself and societal expectations of women.
