FUTURE FOSSILS: Sculpting Memory and Time
I create fossils: fragments of time suspended in resin, preserving the delicate, organic traces of life. My work moves between sculpture and performance, between preservation and transformation, between art and science.
At This Art Fair, I present a series of sculptural plants encased in resin. These plants, layered and fossilised, become relics of the present, remnants of an imagined future. My fascination with fossils, plants and geology has shaped my artistic practice, where natural and artificial processes inspire new forms of preservation.
Alongside these sculptures, I showcase Mobile Exhibition Spaces: portable vitrines worn as backpacks. These moving galleries exhibit the work of female artists, challenging the underrepresentation of women in museums, galleries, and the art market. By carrying these spaces through different contexts, I turn my body into a living platform, a performance of visibility and resistance.
My practice is multidisciplinary: sculpture, drawing, performance, text and photography merge to explore memory, conservation, and history. Through materials and movement, I investigate the fragile yet enduring nature of existence. What do we choose to preserve? And what will remain?
