The Truth As A Mirror
My work exposes the invisible forces that shape, limit and influence us.
In a world where social norms dictate who you are allowed to be, I explore the tension between the individual and society. As a queer woman, I experience how deeply rooted norms push us to conform—and how this unconscious pressure affects our self-perception.
Through my sculptures and installations, I make these mechanisms tangible. My minimalist forms may appear quiet, but they carry a powerful message. They reflect the ongoing confrontation with social norms, especially around gender and queer identity. How do we judge each other? How often do we see ourselves through the eyes of others? And how does this create an inner judgement that limits us?
Through abstraction, I make visible what is often hidden: the subtle but powerful structures that determine how we see ourselves and others. My work does not offer clear answers but raises questions. This interaction creates space for reflection – and perhaps even liberation.
