Cultural changes are like the game of Chinese whispers: you sit in a circle and whisper sentences into one another’s ear. The sentence changes with each whisper. I think it changes because there’s something else you want to hear.
I change certain habits so they fit me better, so I can feel at home between two different cultures. My work is a selfmade puzzle piece that fits in between the cultures. A combination of the two, an overflow, just like a rug.
The essence of a work comes first. Media and materials are important to me, but they always come second. This creates a diversity in the works, and plays with the senses.
