Coming from a non-traditional art background, accessibility is crucial to Jackson’s work. Be it through casting, use of colours, or posing. He wants to create work that is welcoming and inclusive.

For the Primary colours series, on show at This Art Fair, Jackson has blurred the more commercial aspects of beauty photography with the fine art image. He does so quite literally through distortion, creating imagery that wouldn’t feel alien on either an advertising poster or in an art gallery, and presenting a bizarre juxtaposition.

These images require a double-take and close up inspection. They find a way of taking something so intimate and personal as the face and making it more accessible to a broader audience.
