Julia Kiryanova is known for her paintings and performances using nude bodies and confronting vulnerability with sexuality. Freedom of expression, sensuality and boldness are at the basis of all her works. Performances represent the beauty and cruelty of nudity.

“I am convinced that the celebration of each individual and its uniqueness, hand in hand with a strong communal feeling, will lead to a society based on empathy, equality and inclusivity. As an Amsterdam artist, I aim to represent these values while performing the freedom of expression. Creating such spaces is most important  because as long we live in fear of racial and ethnic hatred, we will never find the solutions we desperately need to help us build a new world.

I celebrate diversity, which means finding strength in how we differ from each other. Receiving different public performances of gender, life-styles and cultures with empathy is for me the most important human quality we have. With all our differences we still share the same space.”
