What if your car isn’t just an extension of your body, but also of your emotions? I used to be afraid of driving, without really knowing why I had developed this fear. Eventually, I realised my fear was tied to losing control and taking up space, physically and mentally, which seemed also to translate to my external self: the car.

In my work ‘The Vehicle As a Memory Vessel’, I dive into how our emotions shape the way we drive and move in a car. This led me to create a car frame made of 48 separate metal tubes, with a manual that only I can decode. The frame can go from a small stack of tubes to a full-sized car, taking up space. The installation moves slowly and peacefully, bringing a sense of calm. As an artist, I use vehicles as a medium to dig into personal and social questions. They’re not just machines – they’re also symbols of our movement.
