My work includes small drawings, larger-than-life drawings, murals and (site-specific) installations made of paper or chalk. I suggest spaces that are accessible yet offer no grip to the viewer. Sometimes in black and white like the landscape of the moon, at other times colourful and shimmering, these spaces are populated by multifaceted objects, precarious constructions, weightless skyscraper cathedrals and tangle-like twisting sculptures.
I am inspired by how the world around us is built: constructions, networks and systems. I translate this into a form that is imaginative and detached from reality, in which I try to bring back something of the openness and coincidence, something of life and evolution. This contrasts with an environment that is hugely dominated by rationality and functionality. I try to capture the sculptures and structures in my work in a moment, as if they were just different or are about to transform, change colour or move, looking for the best light, the most beautiful shadow and adapting to changing needs.
