Spaces and environments, both personal and communal, have a strong influence on our moods. As a visual artist I work around spaces in which we live, work and wait. It is often from a desire and / or a certain void in which I’ve started an project.

For This Art Fair I will be mostly showing sculptures from my recent project The WaitingRoom. The idea to work around the concept of a waiting room arose from my struggle with time and the desire to slow it down.

In addition to the ‘slow sculptures’ that I’m exhibiting, I will also show elements of the texture study that I’ve set up as part of the project The Waitingroom. Here I’ve experimented with creating my own structures and combining it with different materials. At the same time this experiment was also a diversion to dream away with a focus on textures, to forget the sense of time for a while.
