My work investigates the dynamic relationship between shaping and being shaped by our surrounding landscape. Investigating both the human dimension and the supposed separation between culture and nature, I explore the interconnectedness between the landscape, our body and mind.

Through reflections on current developments, I begin to transcend time and seek underlying structures that form the invisible basis of our reality and determine the movements of our daily lives. My work questions the human position in the world, both local and global, exploring the inseparability of ourselves and the planet.

My sculptural work is figurative yet abstracted. By utilising a wide variety of familiar materials, I exploit their familiarity and tangibility within the everyday experience of myself and others. Labor-intensive and time-consuming, my process is constantly evolving with knowledge learnt from old craftsmanship and new techniques. Sometimes new techniques are developed in response to the material’s individual identity.
