Imagine a natural landscape as a cross. A horizontal line represents the linear flow of past, present, and future – our everyday, material reality. The vertical line, however, delves into a deeper, timeless dimension, exploring the metaphysical and spiritual layers of existence.
At the intersection of these timelines lies my artistic practice: a space where the visible and the hidden come together. Central to this process is the act of walking – not as a simple movement from A to B, but a deeper kind of wandering, seeing, sensing, and thinking. I call this deep walking.
This walking connects me to the natural landscape and provides the materials, experiences, and ideas that I transform into drawings, paintings, objects, photographs, and interventions.
At This Art Fair, I bring these explorations together in a wunderkammer: a cabinet of curiosities where I take on the role of artist, alchemist, geologist, and archaeologist.
Using natural materials and a mix of analog and digital techniques, I investigate what lies beneath the surface of reality, aiming to expose and uncover traces, layers and hidden stories.
