Noa Zuidervaart (1999, NL) explores the hidden currents that shape our perception of reality, drawing inspiration from both ancient worldviews and contemporary ecological insights. To bring his ideas to life, he employs a diverse range of mediums which he typically activates through installations. His work incorporates a variety of sources, ranging from mythological motifs and animism to protoscience and comics. By weaving together these different influences, Noa challenges linear modes of thinking, creating space for more non-conventional forms of knowledge.
At This Art Fair, Noa presents new works as a prelude to his upcoming solo exhibition at Billytown. Inspired by geomancy – an ancient practice of divination that interprets the earth’s energies through patterns formed by casting objects such as stones, sand, or shells – Noa explores the relevance of intuition and chance. Through a series of drawings and oracle objects, he seeks to grasp the unseen energies shaping our uncertain future.
