Nooshin Askari (b. 1989) is an Iranian artist currently based in Frankfurt am Main, where she has been studying Fine Art at the Städelschule since 2016. In her work Askari investigates how the identity of a person or object can be transformed and visualized through painting. Taking the skin, or surface, as a starting point, she uses different techniques to reflect on the borders of the body and how changing or breaking these borders can transform the way a person or object is perceived.
Askari has exhibited at various galleries in Tehran, including Delgosha Art Gallery, Parking Gallery and No. 6 Gallery and was part of the A Camp exhibition at No Man’s Art Gallery in Amsterdam. Before she moved to Frankfurt, she was a student of Seroj Barseghian from 2010 to 2016.
