Amsterdam based visual artist Osira Verspyck (1978) studied Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She graduated in 2011.

Artist Statement
“When a space, object or everyday situation appeals to a certain state of mind, I try to capture aspects of it in such a way that its qualities are singled out to an extreme. Everyday situations, places and objects are turned into something uncommon by showing them from an unfamiliar perspective.

I use mostly video to explore and express different states of mind. Sleep, or the passage into sleep, has been the most fascinating topic for me up until now.”
