Osmel Herman makes colourful drawings and paintings that tell stories about his native island Curaçao. He also likes to make portraits of people from his environment and from his imagination.
“Painting makes me calm and happy. When I make a painting, I start with the lines and then suddenly figures appear and only when I’m finished do I see that it’s a party.”
