Arctic Charade
This ongoing series of works takes the viewer to a beautiful, cheerful world of clarity, optimism, human daring and entrepreneurial spirit. We see fresh young acrobats which Preta Wolzak turns into heroes, loaded with beauty and glamour, executed in rich materials. But there is also a dark side to her story. Below the surface, Wolzak depicts her outrage at the way people treat the globe. The acrobats stand for the foolish behaviour of mankind, ruining its environment. Man turns the world into one big amusement park, which now even threatens to spread out to the last untouched areas of our planet: the North and South Pole.
