Qiao Chu Guo expresses resilience through artworks about their family’s history. Their land was flooded during the construction of a reservoir, causing environmental damage and illness. The artist expresses how their family survived these conditions through stilt-walking – used to move through toxic wetlands – and by transforming calabashes (water containers) into instruments.
