I am an artist with a great interest in nature and the materials that can be found there. In my work – which consists of installations, sculptures, drawings and photos – I express a clear desire to be able to approach nature, to gain knowledge and insight and to get closer to an ‘understanding’.
Because I use materials such as branches, leaves and soil, transience plays a major role in my work. I am constantly looking for an all-encompassing form, to make the complexity of nature tangible, but also to just cherish the wonder.
The series of works that I present at This Art Fair are odes to a collection of trees. I tried to capture the most magnificent part of each tree, so each work could become the ‘life mask’ of a tree.
