Catching ideas

‘Ideas are like fish. If you want to catch little fish, you can stay in the shallow water. But if you want to catch the big fish, you’ve got to go deeper. Down deep the fish are more powerful and more pure. They’re huge and abstract. And they’re very beautiful….

Everything, anything that is a thing, comes from the deepest level. The more your consciousness -your awareness- is expanded, the deeper you go towards this source, and the bigger the fish you can catch.’ -David Lynch, Catching the Big Fish

I have collected some fish for you. Big and small ideas, turned into patents. Each fish is unique and handmade as there are patents for all kinds of things. The different shapes and sizes represent the big or small impact of the patents they carry. Some patents obviously had big impact on our lives, for others it’s more a matter of taste or generation but every patent started as a wild idea..

Walk around my installation to find a patent you can identify with. Maybe it inspires you to dive in your own subconsciousness and start swimming 🙂
