The new series of works captures the multifaceted reality in everyday life scenes. These paintings were inspired by my family’s habit of sleeping on the floor to secure the best spot in front of the heater. By fusing personal memory and cultural practices with specific settings, I abandon sleeping figures into uneasy situations in my paintings and throw them into the feeling of transience. Sinister light, uncanny shadow, and dystopian background keep us in suspense, recalling a traumatic moment that leaves us with experiences of alienation and desperation. By building subjects and narratives in different layers, I allow various connotations to emerge, creating complexity that seeks to provoke the viewer. This approach aims to develop a sense of discomfort and an inability to fully comprehend what is being seen, leading to different and unexpected interpretations that open up ambiguity.
