Do you hear that? Or not at all? Sound is everywhere, but what if it becomes too much? At This Art Fair 2025, I present a series of works that make the invisible impact of noise pollution – and its possible link to dementia – tangible.
From an early age, I have been fascinated by the interaction between technology, nature, and the human body. What started with taking apart a Game Boy, evolved into a practice where I use machines and instruments to make the unseen visible. In this series, I work with stone, blueprint, and interactive electronics to capture the creeping effects of noise pollution. Engravings in stone reveal the traces sound leaves behind, while some works respond to their surroundings with subtle vibrations or ambient sounds.
This creates a dialogue between the audible and the tangible, between preserved silence and continuous noise. Some works react to their environment – sometimes silent, sometimes whispering with an almost forgotten memory. Sound affects us in ways we often don’t realise. Through my art, I make these effects visible and tangible, giving form to something that would otherwise remain elusive.
