Coincidence and control play a major role in my work. I explore the influence of chance in the process of creation, while my nature demands control over the result. The urge for control and perfection is untenable and the unforeseeable eventually intervenes.
My work, which is mostly 2-dimensional, has a minimalistic character and requires focus and attention of the audience. I am attracted to rhythms and patterns, both of which find their way into my artist practice. Due to my curiosity and inner desire, personal and autonomous images arise.
Currently I am occupied with the realisation of pieces created with my typewriters, where repetition, rhythm and harmony are of interest. Inherent to the utilisation of these tools is the visual language of letters and words finding its way into the final artwork.
