Vico Persson blends drawing, painting and photography to create abstract collages that invite beauty and contemplation, encouraging viewers to reflect on their perception of reality. In addition to his collage work, he also creates sculpture. His practice balances conceptual inquiry with a strong attention to materiality. Whether working with physical textures or layered surfaces, Vico explores the sensual and formal qualities of materials.
A central aspect of Vico’s work is his ongoing inquiry into the nature of what is perceived as true. He systematically mixes parallel realities, in order to question our perception. Collages of flowers combine real photos of flowers and others generated by artificial intelligence, blurring the lines in our understanding of what is real.
Both his sculptural pieces and his “collage paintings” are on display, highlighting his sensitivity to matière – the physicality of form, texture, and surface – alongside his conceptual explorations.
