Clay, connection, and essence are the constants in my work.
“I want to unravel, to reveal the essence, stripped of all noise, both in nature and in human relationships.”
The ceramic installation ‘The Small Difference and the Big Consequences’, which I present at This Art Fair, demonstrates how an apparently insignificant difference in oxygen can lead to major consequences. The title of the work refers to a publication by journalist and feminist Alice Schwarzer, in which she explores the differences between men and women.
The alchemical aspect of working with ceramics fascinates and challenges me immensely. The possibilities are endless. It is about understanding the processes of clay, glaze, and chemical reactions, and mastering (as much as possible) the “miracle” that emerges from the kiln.
