At This Art Fair, Clementine Oomes (Hilversum, 1970) is to present her installation titled ‘One Perfect Shot’. Oomes created a series of artworks, based and inspired on one forgotten wedding picture from her ancestors, taken around the year 1905.

In the beginning of the 20th century, portrait photography was a completely different story from what it is today. For taking one perfect shot, the photographer needed a long time to prepare the set. Especially to get a group perfectly together on the picture, the photographer had to be patient. Today we take pictures in a split second.

The installation ‘One Perfect Shot’ is a collection of several images based on that one wedding picture, captured in a book. All the works are the result of this antique and forgotten picture. Oomes revised, reprinted, reanalyzed and adapted the picture to create several new images.

Clementine Oomes graduated from the KABK in The Hague. Her work has been shown in several exhibitions in the Netherlands and abroad. Several galleries present her work, such as Judy Straten Gallery in The Netherlands, Light Cube Art Gallery in Belgium, and Galeria Sala Ruas in Spain. Recently, Oomes has worked in a residency in Barcelona.
