Artist statement

I am a young photographer who studied photography at the Utrecht School of The Arts, and graduated in 2015.

I observe landscape and scenery with curiosity and fascination. I am interested in the behaviour of people, different cultures, and the beauty of everyday life. I am influenced by various movements in painting.

Memories and radical changes play an important part in my artistic process, forming the incentive for me to start something. They make me feel the urgency to preserve and cherish something through photography. I am like an archaeologist looking for lost stories, looking for images and objects to preserve and cherish, so as not to let them fade away. I fantasize and create poetry.
