Najaf Shokri (Born on April 21th, 1980, Delfan, Iran) is an artist living and working in Tehran. He began his artistic career in theater, writing short uni-personage dramas and contributing to several theatrical groups. Human rela- tionships were the main theme of his dramas. His satirical outlook inevitably il- lustrates the political conditions of his country.

The major medium of his works are photos and dispositions. The topic of his aca- demic thesis was Photo: A Mummi ed Memory. It was actually, a visual experience rather than an academic subject that was about the photos and the people from which life was devoid of.

His enthusiasm for photography led him away from theater. He believes that art is a discovery and photography is the medium with which he can discover.
Shokri teaches photography and occasionally writes plays.
