Daan Roukens (1987) is a Dutch artist, who is best known for his diverse and colorful abstract artworks, ranging from paintings to commissions. In his work he searches for inner peace, which is driven by an obsessive perfectionism to abstract our visual culture. At the same time he experiences a natural tendency to work against his obsessiveness were a constant interaction takes place in the control, the let go and the doubt. His work reflects his own thinking patterns and shows the love-hate relationship with the obsessiveness and visual culture.
He successfully graduated at AKV St. Joost in Den Bosch (2009) and is currently obtaining a master’s degree at the Sandberg Institute. He has exhibited at several (group) exhibitions, like Afura, SVB and KunstRAI and his work varies from private projects to commissions for brands such as Glenfiddich, Buutvrij and Teva. Multiple online and offline media have featured his art, ranging from WeTransfer, Super Future, Elle Decoration, Vogue and Eigen Huis & Interieur.
