Nina Kopp lives and works in Amsterdam as artist and photographer.
“My work expresses my fascination for nature, culture, man and the interaction between them. The topics I work with are often themes of ‘our’ time, like urban gardening, the situation of the honey bee, the mystery around nightshade plants, etc.
My projects are the results of a process: starting with research (about content and history), followed by an analysis and a selection of the most relevant and fascinating facets, I develop a concept, which combines media photography with installation, text, and often drawing.
This alone does not mark the end of a project. Finding the most appropriate form of presentation is also an important part of my working process. This method reflects my desire to engage in a more craft-based and multi-dimensional form of production. It also reflects my ambition to combine the disciplines of photography and constructing into a single process.”
