In her work, Leonie creates resonances of reality. The outcome never forms a clear story but rather consists of abstract elements that present a suggestion of life, humanity, and movement. Together they create their own context.

De Bruin sees her materials as instruments to create spatial paintings, where dynamic shapes and colours open the door to the imagination.

Leonie is intrigued by moments in life in which people go beyond the limits of ratio. She searches for circumstances, rituals and celebrations in different cultures that cannot be completely understood, to form spaces where experiences, expressions and intuition are valuable.
