Anan shares a booth with Maarten Nico & Michiel van der Werf
As a relatively young lithographer (36), Anan Striker loves working with limestone and handling every step of the process himself: grinding the stone, drawing directly onto it, etching the surface, and hand-printing. The process shapes the final work as much as the initial concept does.
Anan’s lithography master Aad Hekker often says he treats the stone in a way that’s distinctively his own. They even coined a term for it: Lithograffiti, because he approaches the stone with similar energy, drawing styles, and artistic addiction as a graffiti writer — breathing new life into a century-old technique.
At This Art Fair 2025, Anan is showing his latest editions, drawing from daily life in Amsterdam, and occasionally shaped through collaborations with his (fellow-lithographer) father. Expect playful, expressive works with a sense of humour — and a serious undertone — to express feelings, stories and a visual punch with the viewer.
