I give focus to what remains and where attention is lost.
In my work, I use observing as a method to zoom in and put focus on. These observations have a deeper meaning and they often carry a conflict within. Nature and climate change play a recurring role. Out of these observations develops an intuitive and playful process of making, in which I use methods which are fitting for the work. Often, these processes are refined and labour intensive. For example, in the ceramic field of grass I make, here I sculpt every blade by hand, creating a direct relation between my time and the continuous growing of the sculpture. This way, the images I make work together with the conflict, in idea, material or technique.
